Welcome to the Department for Cardiovascular Surgery

In our department we attend to the complete spectrum of heart diseases in need of surgical treatment, caring for children with congenital heart defects as well as elder patients.

We focus mainly on minimally-invasive heart valve surgery, especially heart valve repair.

Another main area is the modern therapy of coronary artery disease, where we have wide experience in using arterial bypass vessels that are outstanding in their long-term results.

There as well, if possible, we use minimally-invasive techniques without the need of life support machines.
